Someone is using this blog in a scam. I do not have a flat/apartment for rent in NYC. IT IS A SCAM!!. Do not send them any money or details.

This is the first time we have had a good opportunity to sit down together and read out loud your adventures. So glad you got there OK, and have started to make yourself at home.
Joy and I encountered the lost bag syndrome last month when we went to the Philippines – frustrating, but like you, it was located and brought to us the day after we arrived.
We have chatted with Dad and Mum, so have had the little personal bits from them. You are in our hearts and prayers, and you will be remembered often.
Thank you so much for bringing us into the communication circle – you are already a master blogger – your story is really interesting and well written, Thanks.
We are looking forward to having Mum and Dad with us later this month – Dad threatens to be totally practical and to give us a hand with some garden improvements. But it will be fun with them both here – we do so enjoy their company.

Great to update today on your blog. The video worked perfectly – the sight and sound reminded us of our visit to Cebu ealier this year in the typhoon season. Wow!!!
Glad that you are enjoying the life out there – very different from UK, but it sounds as though you are making it home from home.
Thanks for being so honest about the spiritual dynamics. As you know, I have quite a lot of interaction with relief and development workers in TEAR Fund, and this side of things is very often difficult to crack. We will pray that you will continue to know God’s presence all the time.

I think someone is using your name to facilitate an apartment scam. You don’t have an apartment on the Upper East side in New York you’re trying to rent for $800. Do you? They’ve taken your name attached your blog and used an email address changing out one letter in your first name. mathew.wallis@hotmail.com I can forward their email to you if you’d like. Anyway, just thought you’d like to know. I inquired about the apartment, but after looking at your blog, it seems like you’re not the same person.

The flat in NYC is a SCAM. I live in the UK, have never been to the US and definitely don’t have a flat for rent in NYC. This is a scam, don’t send them any details or money.

Hello Matthew i was recently on craigslist searching for an apartment and came across one located in the bronx. It was being rented by a guy with your name and info. I was about to fall for this scam but something told me to google your name and iam certainly glad that i did. Learning that i was about to be scammed scared me and iam glad that you have blogged about this.

Unfortunately you are right, this is a scam. I do not have an apartment for rent in NYC or anywhere else for that matter. Do not send any money or bank details etc.

Just a heads up that someone is still using your name in this apartment scam. I responded to a post for an apartment in Astoria just today. I didn’t send any money or bank details but unfortunately did share some of my information before figuring it out. Wanted to give a friendly heads up that someone is abusing your name.

I just wanted to say thank you for posting this blog. I just responded to a post about an apartment in NYC in
Astoria and I did share some of my personal information. However, when the apartment started to sound too good to be true and then I was asked to wire the security deposit to Africa using money gram I began to get suspicious and began researching your name which is where I came upon this blog. Just so you know this person is now using the email address of dr.mawall@yahoo.com. Again, thanks for spreading this information and saving me a bunch of money!
